Men's mental health is a silent crisis.
Mental illness in male populations is commonly referred to as a "silent crisis". The traditional social requirement for men to be portrayed as "strong & manly" has stigmatized the option for men to talk about mental health concerns, leaving them more vulnerable to mental illness and even suicide.
With approximately 75% of deaths caused by suicide in Canada being committed by men, this is an issue that we can no longer ignore. At Mattr, we don't simply want to reduce the stigma around the conversation of men's mental health concerns - we want to completely obliterate it, and empower men to take their mental health back into their own hands.
